On October 1, 1949, Tsing Hua faculty members, students and staff attended the founding ceremony of the PRC.
The design group led by the likes of Liang Sicheng, Lin Huiyin, and Zhang Ding was involved in the design of the National Emblem and the Monument to the People's Heroes.
