“This year’s Gala is undoubtedly a unique and exciting one,” says new graduate student Pouya Amani (Iran) from the Academy of Arts and Design, who is also one of the emcees for the 2021 Gala Night. With rich experience on stage, Pouya noticed that he had to put extra effort in writing scripts to help the online audiences connect with the performers better: “We try our best to understand each program in order to describe not just what happens on the stage, but also the context.”
Over the decade that Pouya has lived in China, he witnessed the country's rapid development and is always attracted by the welcoming Chinese people and profound Chinese culture.
“I participated in TV programs A Bright World and Chinese Bridge because through these cultural programs, overseas friends interested about Chinese culture can obtain answers through instant and open communication,” says Pouya who has 1 million followers on Weibo, claiming that TV and radio are one of the most efficient ways to propagate culture.
Pouya currently majors in photography research. With a background in TV producing and directing, he wishes to establish a media channel targeting cultural exchanges between China and Iran, so as to build a platform for promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.
