Zoon Ahmed Khan: Sharing a China Story with the World

"It is a true manifestation of how academicians, journalists, and policymakers can come together to talk about the issues that affect all of us," said Zoon as she summarized her time at Tsinghua.

Since her graduate studies, Zoon Ahmed Khan (Pakistan) from the Department of International Relations has always been amazed by Tsinghua's reputation and the opportunities that it brings. Highlighting her university experiences, Zoon is grateful for the World Peace Forum held every year by the university.

As an event that connects peace activists worldwide, some of Zoon's most phenomenal encounters are through this forum. From meeting the Prime Minister of her own country to sharing insights with former President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, Zoon summarized her experience as follows: "The energy of being with people at the top of their fields gave young scholars like me the drive and motivation to be more ambitious in our lives."

Five years and counting, Zoon will now be advancing her intellectual journey as a Ph. D. candidate at Tsinghua. Her research interest focuses on the Belt and Road Initiative and how it impacts South Asia's stability and prosperity at large. Like many other #TsinghuaRen, Zoon continues her mission to tell a better China story through action and intelligence.
